Research summary
The research will be carried out using Q-Methodology. This will be used to investigate the participants’ perspectives of Special Guardianship Orders by having them rank a series of statements from three time perspectives, during the court process, initially after the court order (SGO) is granted, and the present time.
Q-method was selected as it has been used in similar research projects within the field of looked after children. (Hooley, Stokes & Combes, 2016). It is also a useful method for exploring topics such as this one where there has so far been very little research.
