Research summary
This project will investigate adolescent's (aged 10-19) perceptions and emotional response to having thrombosis and treatment by anticoagulant therapy. Data will be collected through semi-structured interviews with adolescents recruited from the Haematology department, The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. All interviews will be audio recorded, anonymously transcribed and analysed using thematic analysis to identify key themes that describe the experience of having thrombosis and anticoagulant therapy.
The project will be carried out as part of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology by a trainee clinical psychologist during her second and third year of a three year doctoral taught programme.
