Research summary
After stroke many patients' experience difficulties with using their arm and hand, which often affects their ability to carry out daily activities. This study will carry out interviews with stroke survivors' and their carers' to understand the impact that reduced arm function has had on daily activities and to explore the factors they believe helped or hindered their arm and hand recovery. By understanding the barriers faced by stroke survivors and things which facilitated their recovery, it will help to guide the development of future services to address these issues, and to help maintain arm and hand function in the long term.
