Research summary
This research project will use a qualitative design to explore the experiences of service users, who have taken part in a family group conference, in the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, Family Group Conferencing service. There is very limited research looking at family group conferencing in NHS adult mental health services, so this study could be helpful, to improve understanding of this approach to working with service users and their networks. Service users will be asked about their experiences of family group conferencing in semi-structured individual interviews via a video call, an interview schedule will be used as a guide. There will be between 5-12 participants, the interviews will be up to 60 minutes each and the data will be qualitatively analysed, using interpretative phenomenological analysis.
