Research summary
This interview study is one part of a European programme of research to develop a shared decision support tool, to help cancer patients on antithrombotic therapy (medicine that thins the blood) make choices about their treatment. Patients may be on this medicine because of a previous heart problem, or because they developed a cancer related blood clot. This interview study is a specific work package that will explore these patients' and clinicians' experiences and perspectives of this treatment in UK services. The findings will be used to inform further studies such as a 2-part survey to gain agreement on the development of the tool, including content and delivery of the proposed tool.
