Research summary
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an exercise programme for people with long term lung conditions. It is effective at improving people’s strength and fitness. People attending Pulmonary Rehabilitation to manage their lung conditions are often also experiencing hip or knee pain. Their hip and knee pain can affect their ability to complete the exercise within Pulmonary Rehabilitation. We would like to interview people (virtually) who have attended Pulmonary Rehabilitation with hip or knee pain. During these interviews we will discuss the experience of having hip and knee pain and attending Pulmonary Rehabilitation whilst experiencing hip and knee pain. The interviews will last approximately between 1 to 2 hours. The information from the interviews will be analysed by the study team to understand the common points mentioned by participants. By understanding the challenges we hope to inform the future management of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme to support people attending with hip or knee pain.
