Research summary
We know that people from ethnic minority backgrounds are under represented in palliative care settings. We would like to conduct semi-structured telephone interviews with people who identify as BAME (Black, Asian and other minority ethnic groups) and have used the palliative care service of Saint Francis Hospice. We will ask them to share how they felt about their experience especially in regards to their cultural needs. Thematic analysis will be used when going through interview transcripts. Through this work we hope we can identify any barriers that people from BAME backgrounds may face when accessing palliative care services.
