Research summary
A pilot trial of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) with people with Huntington's disease (HD) is due to take place later this year (clinicaltrials.gov ICT:NCT02464293). The current study aims to explore the hopes and expectations of some of those who are due to take part in this intervention and their partners. A small group of people with HD and their partners will be interviewed about their understanding of psychological distress and their beliefs and expectations of psychological therapy and MBCT specifically. The data will be analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis.
