Research summary
Modern gas analysis instruments offer the opportunity to measure metabolites as they are released from the body, either in exhaled breath or directly into the headspace above tissues. By adopting this technology it is hope that new understanding can be gained in terms of the human body's response to stress and disease. Such information may support novel non-invasive diagnostic tests and methods of patient monitoring.
