  • Research summary

People who receive a kidney transplant have reported difficulty maintaining a stable weight, and also maintaining an active lifestyle. This can have impact on the kidney transplant and overall health. Currently in the UK, there are no specific treatments or packages available that help new kidney transplant recipients prevent this weight gain. Previous research by the team has created and refined a kidney transplant specific online resource for new kidney transplant patients to provide them with the skills to monitor and improve their activity and maintain a healthy weight. The purpose of this current study is to use this newly revised online resource, in a bi-centre randomized controlled trial design, to see if it is a feasible treatment option for new kidney transplant patients.
