Research summary
The purpose of this study is to look at how certain cells in blood behave in patients with Haemophilia A. In order to do this, blood samples will be collected from patients with Haemophilia A and experiments performed on the blood in the laboratory. The experiments will look at cells involved in the immune system and will help in the development of a new drug therapy for those patients who form antibodies (termed inhibitors, as they inhibit factor VIII activity) to factor VIII, a dangerous complication of haemophilia A treatments.
There will be no medication involved in this study.
Up to 15 patients will be enrolled at one site
