  • Research summary

This is a survey for a cohort of patients with Gorlin's syndrome receiving treatment at the Central Manchester University Hospital and the Christie Hospital. A multi-disciplinary treatment service for this condition involving geniticist, plastic surgeon, dermatologist and oncologist, has been established by the Dermatology team. The study aims to assess the factors influencing the outcome of Gorlin syndrome.

A questionnaire will be distributed over 12 months period to all patients receiving treatment for Gorlins' sydrome in the department.

Currently there is no investigation as to the association of risk factors, ultraviolet sun exposure and outcome, such as numbers and sites of basal cell carcinomas, treatment and quality of life.

The results of the study will help us to identify the factors influencing the outcome of Gorlin's syndrome and improve the service provided for the patients.
