Research summary
The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Group (QLG) has launched a new project to develop an international questionnaire that measures the quality of life in patients with haematological malignancies who are treated with CAR T-cell therapy or T-cell engaging antibodies. We have received funding for the first two phases of this project.
Phase I aims to identify which quality of life issues are most relevant to patients undergoing these treatments. First, we will conduct a thorough review of existing research to create an initial list of possible issues that patients may face. This list will then be discussed with healthcare professionals through interviews to gather their feedback. After that, we will also interview patients to understand which issues are most important to them. Based on the feedback from both groups, we will refine the list and create a final list of key issues.
Phase II involves turning this list of key issues into a set of scientifically valid questionnaire items. These will form the basis for a future tool that researchers and clinicians can use to better understand the quality of life of patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy or T-cell engaging antibodies.REC name
