Research summary
Cancer diagnosis and treatment can result in symptoms and toxicity that have an impact on quality of life. Several research groups have developed questionnaires to measure this so that patients can be monitored during treatment and compare the side effects of different treatments. It would be helpful to be able to pool together results from several studies which have used different questionnaires, but because the questions asked on each questionnaire are subtly different, this is not very easy.
In this study we are asking patients to complete several widely used, similar questionnaires, so that in future scores on one questionnaire can predict scores on another. In this way we can combine studies using many different questionnaires to have a better understanding of how cancer and its treatments impact on patients’ quality of life.REC name
