Research summary
There is very limited information about the patients’ experience and their quality of life after being diagnosed with adrenal incidentaloma and how a combination of digital technology and professional skills can help and support patients. This study we are addressing the fears and concerns that newly diagnosed patients with adrenal incidentaloma face. Adrenal incidentaloma is a common endocrine diagnosis and effecting 2% of the general population. All newly diagnosed adults (age 18 and above) who are seen by a clinician after their scans and are able to give informed consent are eligible. The study will be conducted in University Hospital of North Midlands and it will be last between six to twelve months. The participants will have a meeting with the clinician who will explain the purpose of the study to them and after gaining consent, the researcher will interview the participants and data will be collected. Based on the data provided an informative digital platform will be design and participants will be asked to use it and in second interview with the researcher they will express if the platform support them to cope with their diagnosis better and it improves their quality of life.
