  • Research summary

To determine the impact of the MECSH-UK programme on outcomes for vulnerable families and children, using administrative, routine and parent self-report data. The hypothesis is that children born to vulnerable mothers receiving MECSH will have significantly better child, maternal and family outcomes than those receiving usual care. MECSH has been demonstrated to be effective in trial in Australia. Evidence is needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of MECSH in the UK service system. The research will compare the outcomes for the MECSH-UK home visiting programme with the outcomes of the usual care healthy child programme.
