Research summary
The aim of this project is to evaluate existing group-based diabetes self-management education programs (DSMEs). The study is a non-randomised observational pre-post evaluation of the effectiveness of DSME programs. Selected programs are those targeted at diagnosed diabetes type 2 adult patients. The programs should be a stand alone program for general patient populations and therefore not specific to age, gender or specific needs group.
Participants attending existing DSME programs will be asked to complete a pre program questionnaire to establish an individual baseline. They will be asked to complete a second questionnaire 6 months later.
Program providers will also be asked to complete a short questionnaire to evaluate implementation delivery of the program.REC name
