  Many attenders at AWARE support groups refer themselves with only 20% being referred by their GP. It is possible that both the clinical profile and performance outcomes of attenders with depression who are referred specifically by their GP may be different to the mainly self-referred attenders on these measures. For this reason, we wish to conduct a pilot study to measure the effectiveness, safety and consumer acceptability of this service for GP referred patients with depression.
