Research summary
Every pulmonary hypertension centre in the UK uses emPHasis-10 to help healthcare professionals understand the impact on day-to-day living. This questionnaire was developed over ten years ago. Since then, surveys about the questionnaire have raised some questions about how well it covers information about your daily life. We would like to ask more about this to see if we can improve the questionnaire.
The Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA UK) surveys also highlighted the challenges and burden managing health between hospital visits. New (digital) technologies are increasingly available to support health. We would like to know if, and how these help (or hinder) your day-to-day life. If you don’t use any of these, we also want to know why. Examples can be digital technology from smartphones and smart watches to other devices that the hospital may provide (even home BP monitors). This will help us to inform healthcare practitioners.
This is a qualitative interview study.
