Research summary
The aim of this study is to assess the feasibility of obtaining informed consent from patients and extracting the required data, to support a future funding application.
Once the information is gathered, we will extract automatically using text mining, phenotypic information, i.e. problem, condition, aetiology, treatment, test,risks, signs, symptoms from fully consented electronic health records (EHRs) related to diabetes and COPD. The ultimate goal is to support clinical decision making, personalised therapy and quality assurance by overcoming challenges related with data and computing intensive endeavours.
