The samples and data to be collected and stored here are all those described in this application - in other words, blood, skin, hair, nail clippings, any other clinical sample for which there is excess for diagnostic purposes, DNA, RNA, cell cultures, data on personal details, medical condition information, family history information. The data and samples will be stored within the Genetics and Genomic Medicine department, level 1, GOS UCL Institute of Child Health.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is adjacent to the Institute of Child Health, and works closely with it. Veronica Kinsler works in both institutions and will coordinate the research programme in ICH that will use the data and samples collected by the proposed GOSH Rare Diseases Resource (bank). There are superb facilities and collaborations already available within the Institute of Child Health, including access to next generation sequencing, advanced bio-informatics, drug design teams, gene therapy expertise, and cellular and molecular biology. These networks have already been used for Dermatology projects within our department.
