  • Research programme

Patients with spondyloarthritis (an arthritis particularly affecting the spine, but may also have other manifestations) can develop profound symptoms that limit mobility and quality of life. Over time, some patients also develop changes to the bones of the spine, which can further restrict movement. We would like to better understand why some patients develop these features but others do not, and using blood biomarkers is a promising way of learning more about the disease process.
