  Living donor liver transplant accounts for majority of the transplants in eastern world and now with shortage of organs there is increase in the LDLT in western part of the world as well.
  A study from Taiwan showed a complication rate of 40 % in donor hepatectomy with 10 % major complication rate.[1] Study of 300 donor from China showed temporary abnormality in liver function test and full blood count which recovers in some time.[5] Laboratory test may show abnormality and predict complications following donor hepatectomy but physical, mental and psycho social challenges which are encountered during and after donor hepatectomy cannot be estimated using lab tests.[6]
  A few studies show that the Physical Component Score decrease immediately after donation, then returned to the baseline, while the Mental Component Score remains comparable to that of normative population throughout the procedure. [7,8]
  Health related quality of life is dependent on various parameters and is one way to measure is by using questionnaires. One such example is using standard WHO SF-36 proforma.[9] But SF-36 is not specific to organ donation or transplant, so we can using donor QoL proforma which is specific for organ donation.[10]
  The effect of donation process and surgery on physical, mental, and psycho-social aspects of donor life are very important part of donation process and should be understood. We would like to conduct this study to understand donor quality of life post liver-donation surgery
