  • Data collection arrangements

    Consent for research and collection of samples will be restricted by the donors immediate healthcare team and/or members of NHS staff with the approval of the patients clinical lead. Consent will be sought to procure samples from clinical procedures. Consent will also be sought from next of kin to utilise tissue from deceased donors that have donated organs for transplantation but where the transplant route fails (where the organ is rejected). No identifiable data will be sought or included with the samples. WE also aim to work with other biobanks to share resource and maximise research outcome.

  • Research programme

    University, small commercial and large commercial organisations on a global scale will be allowed to apply for the donated samples. Research will be limited to that approved by the REC but will include Cell Culture, Genetic studies, Drug discovery including metabolism, toxicity, transport etc, Drug Efficacy testing, Drug Safety Testing, Formulation of diagnostic samples and/or kits as well as Protein quantification/analysis.
