Research summary
Emotion changes following brain injury may relate to difficulties with emotional perception. Emotion changes are a common symptom following brain injury and increase disability.
The purpose of this research is to further validate an emotion perception task that has been shown to be sensitive to emotion perception difficulties in non-clinical populations. We aim to establish whether the task can be readily completed by a neurological population and secondly whether there are reliable differences in performance between a neurological and control population. Simultaneously data from patient records will be used to analyse associations between specific factors such as mood, severity and location of lesion.
