Research summary
The brain, more than any other organ in the body, requires a constant supply of blood, and a number of complex control systems act on small blood vessels to maintain this flow. Understanding this control system and measuring its function/impairment in order to guide improved patient care remains a major challenge. To address this, the current project aims to investigate individual differences in the integrated control function of both blood pressure (BP) and brain blood flow in healthy volunteers and stroke patients.
