Research summary
Using economic evaluation techniques to generate evidence on how health interventions can affect health inequalities can help to allocate health system resources as efficiently as possible. This study will evaluate the National Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme (NAAASP) using distributional cost-effectiveness analysis methodology. It will estimate the impacts of the programme on both average population health and socioeconomic health inequalities in England using a mathematical model. Our results will give information on how NAAASP does effect health inequality (vs no NAAASP), as well as indicating scope and value of exploring different means of implementing the programme
