Research summary
The DINOSAUR study is investigating management of bone and joint infections in children, with the overall aim to assess the feasibility of a randomised controlled trial to reduce the length of intravenous and/or oral courses of antibiotic therapy. Structured face-to-face interviews conducted by an experienced qualitative researcher will be used to explore the experiences of families of a child who has had a bone and joint infection. The willingness of these families to participate in a possible randomised controlled trial investigating longer (current standard of care) versus shortened courses of antibiotics for bone and joint infection.
