  • Research summary

A proof of concept project to provide evidence that PelliTec blister prevention pads can be used safely in patients with healed diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) in multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinics. The project will also evaluate the performance and reliability of the pads in order to confirm they are appropriate for reducing friction and pressure in key regions of interest on the foot. The pads stick to the inside of the patient’s footwear, not on the skin. If successful, this will lead to a future larger study designed to determine if this approach can be used to prevent the recurrence of diabetic foot ulceration.
