Research summary
A smartphone game app has been developed by collaborators in the University of the West of Scotland which is intended to support compliance with blood sugar testing in type 1 diabetes. The game can be played independently of the diabetes elements but capture of blood glucose information allows transmission of these data to the patients' own healthcare professionals for analysis and the platform will support secure messaging so that tailored one-to-one advice can be offered. This feasibility study is intended to establish the playability of the game, it's likelihood to be used medium to long term and to establish the practicalities of the messaging.
