Research summary
This study involves focus groups with people with dementia, informal carers, and staff, in which participants can provide their opinions and feedback about aspects of a currently designed intervention to maintain or improve everyday functioning. These interventions are currently designed as part of a PhD in Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of Manchester and fall in line with current policy guidelines of early intervention and maintaining independence in the own home for as long as possible. Involving patients and carers has the great benefit of shaping interventions the way that they are feasible and manageable and reflecting the wishes of the groups of people for whom these interventions are developed. Furthermore, involving staff will integrate the experiences of health professionals in conducting such interventions.
The first set of focus groups will take place in February/March, and the second set will take place in April/May.REC name
