    What is the research question?
    In systemic studies apelin and relaxin will be infused into systemic circulation to investigate their effect on heart and blood glucose level.
    In forearm blood flow studies (FBF), relaxin will be infused into brachial artery to investigate its mechanism of action. Apelin and relaxin will be investigated in FBF to establish their combined effects on vasomotor tone in healthy participants.

    Naturally occurring body peptides apelin and relaxin

    Who is eligible?
    There are 3 different populations being looked at for this study. Healthy participants, participants with increased weight, and participants with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

    Where will the study take place?
    The study will be conducted at the Addenbrooke's site

    How long will the study last?
    There are 7 sub-studies each with different visit schedules, the minimum duration (including follow-up phone call) would be 2 days while the maximum would be approximatly 13 weeks
