Research summary
The study will be a case report or series summarising reflections and commentaries of patients who have killed their mothers and professionals involved in their care. Extensive searches of the medical and psychological literature do not reveal studies that look into the experiences of such people beyond discussion about the events leading to the offence. This study aims to look at what happens afterwards in terms of patients’ commentaries and reflections of the issues that arise and how they are dealt with, and similarly those of the clinical team, in order to help others who may be in this situation
