Research summary
This project involves the collection of questionnaire data and DNA and blood samples from patients attending the Rotherham Institute for Obesity (RIO) as part of a weight management programme. The samples will be collected to allow the measurement of hormones and the extraction of DNA in order to carry out studies that will increase the understanding of the hormonal and genetic factors associated with success on weight management programmes. The questionnaire data will increase the understanding of the psychological factors that influence this success. The research aim is to identify factors associated with success in people prescribed a weight management programme.
