• Research summary

  A pilot study of 50 patients recruited from general out patients at University Hospital North Durham and Chester le street community hospital. Patients will have Rheumatoid Arthritis as defined by ACR/EULAR classification criteria.Consent is obtained from these patients who will not need any additional visits to hospital or invasive tests. Basic demographic data will be collected as well as Health Assessment Questionnaire.
  Patients will be given training on how to assess their tender and swollen joints using the tablet by experienced healthcare professionals. This tablet will be password protected and encrypted. The data will be saved on the tablet using a hospital number only and the raw scores as well as the total DAS will be recorded.
