  • Research summary

The study is to compare the standard of care for patients with Febrile neutropenia (which is a serious complication of chemotherapy) with an alternative interventional approach. Patients are usually treated as inpatients but emerging evidence suggests that patients can be effectively treated as outpatients. The study will compare the cost of care, and quality of life, for patients with low risk febrile neutropenia, treated in a standard inpatient setting, versus those treated on an ambulatory care pathway.
