Data collection arrangements
Data collected as part of this research project will be kept confidential and not disclosed to third parties. After the initial data collection and data linkage, the database will be anonymised, to prevent inadvertent identification of patients. A de-anonymisation key will be retained by the principal investigator, to facilitate the addition of further data to the database. However, this will be kept separately in a password protected format.
Data will be anonymised and stored securely. Where data is transferred from one PC to another, encrypted memory sticks will be used. Data interpretation will be carried on designated computers at each site (either University or NHS). After completion of the study, the research database will be removed from computers at sites and archived according to Barts Health NHS Trust policy and procedures.
