  • Research summary

To systematically collect clinical, coronary (anatomical) imaging and coronary blood flow (physiology) data from patients attending the cardiac cath lab for angiography or PCI involving pressure or flow wire studies. The procedure will be done as standard of care for clinical reasons with anonymised data collected and used to improve the virtual models of flow and pressure in the pilot computer system. \n\nOnce the participants data has been collected this will end the their involvement in the trial when the data will then be entered into a computer system that was developed in a previous study (referenced A5-6 and A5-7). The data will be entered to verify the the computer system and generate a virtual fractional flow reserve reading (vFFR). Once the vFFR is calculated for that patient, the reading will be compared against the clinical decision made at the time of the event and whether the two match. By collecting data from a number of patients we can then validate the computer tool and hopefully in the future put this in practice. This will avoid a pressure wire being inserted into the participants which would extend their cath lab procedure due to the future vFFR reading.
