Research summary
Interventions for children with injuries around the knee have been increasing in recent years. Following a knee injury, children may damage their patella femoral joint, anterior cruciate ligament, menisci or joint surface requiring treatment. Understanding the best treatments has been prioritised as a key research priority, but first we need to understand the best outcomes to measure to understand impact of different treatments.
This study will define the core outcomes to measure by first understanding what outcomes can be measured using a combination of patient focus groups and clinician surveys. These outcomes will then be prioritised using an online Delphi survey and finally the most important (core) outcomes will be defined with a multi-stakeholder consensus meeting.
This will give us a set of outcomes that are agreed as critical to measure across all future trials.
