Research summary
The study will investigate conversations during therapy between speech and language therapists (SLTs)and stroke patients who have aphasia (an acquired language disorder). Video recordings will be made of 10 individual therapy sessions and therapists' perspectives on their interactions will be captured through in-depth interviews. Data from these two sources will be analysed to gain insight into the purpose and function of conversation in aphasia therapy sessions.
