Research summary
We have been performing research on burns patients with lower limb injuries with interesting outcomes. We looked at gait (walking), range of motion, ability to complete activities and questionnaires on outcomes. This was to determine which surgical options give the best over all result. Unfortunately it is not possible to ascertain patients premorbid (before burn) function. Therefore we need to use similar age, gender volunteers to compare to. In our hospital we have normal populations for the gait ( walking) part however no normal population for the other outcomes. So we will be asking members of the public/staff who have no injuries to volunteer to have these range of motion and questionnaires.
