Research summary
The purpose of this Contraceptive Health needs assessment is to look at reproductive health inequalities within transgender men and non-binary people, identify possible barriers and facilitators to increase uptake of contraception and thereby increase contraception awareness and long acting reversible contraception (LARC) uptake. There are significant health inequalities in this vulnerable group and they have unique health needs especially with regards to family planning.
This convenience anonymised survey will provide important insights into Contraceptive health needs, how effectively these needs are currently met and where the important gaps are.It will support our service to provide better contraceptive care to trans and non-binary people and the findings and recommendations from this survey will feed into future policy documents in our department's SRH services.
