Research summary
This is a study in 42 participants evaluating how Blood Pressure (BP) readings from two different types of wrist-worn devices compare with BP taken using ambulatory BP monitor which records readings over 24h using a standard upper arm cuff. All participants will be invited to wear each wrist device alongside the cuffed upper arm ambulatory BP monitor during two separate visits, trying one wrist device at a time and then switching to the other. In the future, these 24h BP readings from novel wearables and conventional cuffed monitors will be used to train machine learning algorithms, predicting outcomes and improving care for people with or at risk of hypertension.
