  • Research summary

Glaucoma is a common condition of the eyes which can lead to blindness. Field of vision testing is important in diagnosing the disease and in tracking whether or not it is getting worse.
As yet, it is not clear which of two test methods provides the most reliable results, and whether one or the other test is easier for patients. In this study we will compare test results from a group of patients who have been newly referred to our unit and who have performed both tests. We will also ask patients which test they preferred. The results from this study will give us an idea of whether which of the two tests is more accurate, and which of the two tests is easier for patients to perform. Importantly, the results will allow us to plan more precisely how a larger study on these two tests will need to be designed.
