  My project examines the ability of conventional and two dimensional speckle tracking (2DSE) to differentiate between physiological and pathological left ventricular hypertrophy [LVH]. Specifically, I want to compare the myocardial structure and function of the LV and RV in high performance rowers, against patients that have LVH due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy [HC].
