Research summary
We want to improve mental health care for people being seen in Drug and Alcohol teams. Some people who have substance issues also have mental health disorders that might not have been diagnosed yet, or might be wrongly diagnosed. With our study we hope we can make sure that more people get the right diagnosis and are able to see a specialist quicker.
Our study is called 'Comparing diagnosis of specialists and non-specialists using GMHAT'. It tests whether a Nurse or Drug/Alcohol Worker can decide on the same diagnosis as a specialist doctor (psychiatrist) by using a simple assessment.
