Research summary
The study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of a communication intervention for parents with psychosis and their children. This will involve building on an existing intervention (Child Talks+) which aims to improve communication about parental mental illness, with a specific focus on helping parents to discuss their psychosis symptoms with their children. Development and piloting of this theory-based intervention is the first step in the MRC guidance on developing and evaluating complex interventions, and the study hopes to pave the way for larger randomised controlled trials of feasibility and efficacy.
