Research summary
Cognitive Remediation (CR) is a therapy supporting functional recovery in people with severe mental health conditions. A large number of outcome measures are used to assess the impact of CR on the social, occupational and cognitive functioning of the service user. The usual way of considering outcomes is just to determine the primary outcome rather than taking into account the balance of values of stakeholders. This would then place different potential outcomes into context. The current study will assess outcome value from service user and clinical staff points of view to create a Multi-Criterion Decision Model (MCDM) for use in future CR studies. Using data from a simple survey, a multi-criterion decision model will rank the most important CR outcomes as identified by 30 service users, 30 clinicians and 30 service managers.
