Research summary
The study aims to create an online (e-health) self-management support programme for adults who have been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Working with the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation NHS Trust, the study will use a participatory co-design methodology, to engage potential users of the programme. The co-design process will consist of workshops bringing together people with MCI (n=>5 and <15), Trust staff (n=2/3) and researchers (n=2/3) to design the programme. Co-design has been chosen because it is a methodology of shared decision making and development of a service, where service user experience is key to a valid and useful design. The first workshop will explore the elements to be included in the programme and how they should be addressed. The second workshop will explore layout and design and online (e-health) delivery. The workshops will use small group and paired discussions.
