• Research summary

  The study is a multi-centre, randomised controlled trial in which 428 patients with mild-moderate left ventricular systolic dysfunction and ventricular scar/fibrosis on cardiovascular magnetic resonance are randomized to either implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) or implantable loop recorder (ILR) insertion and are followed up for a maximum of 5 years. It will be evaluated if the insertion of the ICD will reduce sudden cardiac death and/or syncopal ventricular arrhythmia in patients with mild-moderate left ventricle (LV) systolic dysfunction.
